happy valentines day loves. do you like valentines or loathe it? i used to loathe. in high school i protested and wore black. and one year, i happened upon some print of cupid lying in a pool of blood with his own arrow in his back. i may or may not have photocopied a few and passed them out (don’t worry it was bad graphics and only black and white back then). i know. if i’m honest, these days, we don’t do very much to celebrate. but i am always a fan of love, chocolate and pink on any and everyday.

speaking of pink….the other day, my friend lindsay of lindsay letters stopped by with a few of her new pieces. aren’t they cute? (not sure why i mixed in my little washi taped journal but i did).

i’m all about sharing the love and thought why not send a little love your way! I’ll be giving away this be true print a long with one of lindsay’s new cards (above).

Here is a little story. Two Valentine’s ago my now husband was in WA and I was still living in MA. So we mailed each other little gifts and some how managed to buy each other the exact same canon lens coffee travel mug. We found it pretty funny.

A quick & funny Valentine’s Day story: in first grade, my secret Valentine signed his card to me with “Love” and I absolutely freaked out because I thought he really loved me.

When I was in fourth grade, a boy gave me a purse for Valentine’s day. He wrapped it in a bag big enough for me to fit inside. I was so embarrassed because he brought it to school. The next year after I left, he wrote a paper about me and shared it with the entire class. Definitely the most embarrassing thing to happen to a 10 year old!

Valentine’s Day is always better in the movies….but I love getting flowers, so my hubs did good.
My teenage daughter’s boyfriends did BETTER though which is always fun to see. Some of these boys have been well coached or are just really smart. Both girls got gorgeous roses. I got a “spring bouquet”. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Em (our almost 4 year old) came to me this morning and asked: “so, mom, where is your present? (for Valentines day)”
Me: “you. You guys are my present”
Em: “no we is not! We just kids, not presents!”

What a {sweet} giveaway! Love this print and so many others in Lindsay’s shop.

For Valentine’s Day this year [our first married one!] my husband planned a “P” themed night–Pink’s Hot Dogs, he let me pick a “P”air (of Nike’s) or a “P”od (iPod) and I of course couldn’t decide, he gave me a new magazine so I would have Patience while we drove around to the next surprise, and new Pajamas. Very sweet + thoughful!
