It’s the day before Thanksgiving and I should like to say . . .
Count your blessings.
And all of that.
I should like to tell you a story that you find yourself within.
Or weave words that loop in, and out, and around the fabric of your heart.
But you know these things.
You are already in the story.
And, you’ve already read someone else’s (certainly more eloquent) words.
What you and I, both, know is that there is so much to be grateful for. So many reasons to give thanks.
Yet, if you are like me then you just don’t do it enough. If you are anything like me, finding and focusing on what has gone wrong is what comes naturally. Perhaps it’s human nature or in part due to personality? I don’t know. But, what I am certain of is that there is so much to be grateful for. So many reasons to give thanks. Always.
Today I’m giving thanks for God, for life, for family, for friends. My list is simple and elemental. It’s where I begin. It’s where my heart knows to start. What bubbles up and out.
Where do you begin?
I’m giving thanks, also, for you, lovely ones. It is a gift that you would take the time to visit, to read, to conversate. Thank you.
I pray that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and that your hearts are warmed from time with loved ones, overflowing with gratitude, and that you find yourself giving thanks for things you never thought you would.
